Dumping styles definition
I have a template and I want to produce a table that gives the characteristics of each style, for example,
Style Style Definition Name Heading 1 Heading 1 Arial 16 Bold Based on No Style 12 Before, 6 After Tabs -0.55/0/0, no indent / Tab=0, Hanging=.55 Is there a way to automatically dumpt all the style definitions from word so I don't have to do it manually? I use Word 2003 Thank you. |

There is a built-in command to print all styles in Word. In the Print dialog box (Ctrl+P), select "Styles" in the "Print what" box, and then click OK.
However, you may find this article more useful: http://gregmaxey.com/Style_Report.htm.

Thank you very much for the answer. When I printed the list of styles, I did so to a PDF file. From the PDF file, I will copy the text and paste into my template in an appendix. Thank you also for the link to Greg Maxey's site...his Script Repot add in will be very helpful once I figure how to "run" it.

I'm glad I could help.
For what it's worth, the Style Report macros can be used when you are trying to tidy up a document. For more on installing macros in Word, see http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm.
