Default Advanced find - default search all

In Word 2010 the advanced find (ie the Find tab in the Find and Replace window) defaults to search down. Is there any way to set the default to search all?

Now realised why this happens. If text is selected the Find automatically searches down; if no text is selected it defers to searching all.
