Default Comments and Tracking

I have a document that was edited by another person. There are comments and tracking marks that underline anything that was added.

How do I hide or just get rid of these marks and comments? Usually, I use a macro that I have had forever but this is not working since every time I open the document, the marks reappear.

I did some research and answered one of my questions: Tool/Track changes and Tools/Options are the keys. But I'm still having a hard time getting rid of format change notifications. Some allow me to accept or reject them..others..nothing.

The other problem was the result of the other person changing the View.
They had the View Markup option on.
