Default Problem opening second Word document

Hi all -

When I have a Word document open, and then I open a second Word document, the second document opens and becomes active for a second, but then the first document becomes active in front of the second document.

I'm using Office 2007 on Windows 7 32 bit. I just got this computer yesterday. I don't have this problem on any of my other systems.

Any ideas? This is very annoying.

It seems to me that as Word opens the second document, it causes the first document to stop responding. After the second document is opened, the first document starts responding again, and therefore automatically becomes active.

Is there anything to do?
