Default Paste and keep source formatting lost

In Word 2010 for PC I have lost the ability to paste between documents without losing all formatting. The paste dialogs and icons only allow one option ("Keep text only"). I have tried to add the "paste and keep source formatting" icon to the quick ribbon but it is grayed out. I also have the "keep source formatting" option set as default in options but nothing is working.

I have also removed the Normal template but that does not help either. Curiously, in Excel 2010 I can paste with multiple options. I have been unable to find any answers online so hopefully someone can provide some guidance. Thank you for any and all information.

Default Any Ideas??

We are having this issue as well. The problem arises when an internet page is opened. All programs are affected not just office. The internet page can be opened in Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. All with the same result. To correct the internet page needs to be closed and the office program restarted for the formatting to be restored with a copy/paste

Default Probelm reportedly under review

I just saw a long thread on this at MS Answers forum. The browser issue is noted, as is Skype Click-to-call installation. Uninstalling the latter has solved the problem for some folks, but nothing is working for everyone yet. One MVP reported that MS is aware of and looking at the problem now.

Best,
Ulodesk

Smile Skype Click-to-call problem with MS Office paste fromatting

Thx Ulodesk...
...for a pull from out of nowhere. Who would have imagined the solution to the MSOffice 2010 loss of 'paste' formatting would be a.) opening any browser triggers it? ...and b.) Uninstall Skype Click-to-call is the solution??!!
Invaluable... I could have wasted endless hours attempting that on my own without ever having gotten there.
Thanks again for your ability to distill the key element from what must have been a very extensive MS technical support thread.
Best regards- Alan
