Default Multilevel caption numbering

Hey,
Using Word 2007 on XP:

I would like to label my figures based on the chapter number alone, i.e. Figure 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc

However because i am using multilevel headings within each chapter it is labeling them Figure 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3 etc which gets silly when i have 3/4 levels!

Is there a way to only assign the chapter title and not include the multilevel heading values?

Cheers

timpy
