Default Cover page problem

Hi all,

I am new and a little ignorant so please a little patience.

I am doing an assignment for university and come across a problem,I have downloaded a cover page and added it into my word app as a template. The original cover page is obviously only one page but when I go to use the template it appears as two pages and some of the text is moved to the second page and in a different format. No matter what I try it does this always.

After trying everything I could think of(not much) I thought OK I will just move the text back to the first page and that was OK but it will not allow me to reformat the text.

I am using word 2007 and vista

I need this cover page template to appear as it does when I downloaded it, as one page and correct format. The original download was in compatibility mode if this helps.

Thank you all in advance.

Mark

Turn on the Show/hide button in the paragraph group on the Home tab of the Ribbon. This will cause the display of non-printing characters in your doc. You'll be able to see markers that indicate the end of paragraphs, marks for spaces, for tab characters, etc. usually an extra page is either a page break that needs to be deleted, or extra empty paragraphs at the end of the doc. Click in them and backspace to remove.

The Show/Hide button is a fundamental part of using Word. If you are not using this tool at least some of the time, you will never get very good at using Word, and you will be typing while blindfolded.

Hi Kimberly,

That worked thank you, and when I attached it to my assignment all was ok...still puzzled why it would do that, but appreciate that it resolved the problem.

Thanks once again
