Default Combining word documents with sources

Hi,
I am trying to print out a dissertation, where each chapter is in a separate file. I need them all in a single file, so I can have a table of contents, a single bibliography, page numbers, etc. When I do this, my sources get into a complete mess.
To make things worse, my sources are in a style which I only have on one computer, so I can view them, but any time I try to update, everything goes haywire...
Any suggestions would be warmly appreciated.

I can understand the frustration. I had to work with table of authorities and contents before too.

Your sources got into a mess. I presume the TOC is fine?

What do you mean by got in a mess? As I understand, styles are pasted into a new document if they are part of the selection that you are copying. In any case, for citations and such, there is a field code surrounding the text you are citing. If i am right, as long as the field code is copied into the other document, the source will be included into the biblio when it is updated.

Thanks. The TOC is fine. Most of the citations made it OK, though some are marked as invalid references (even though I copied the sources into the new file).
Regarding the citation style - the trouble occurs when I try to update anything to do with the sources on a computer which does not have the style I defined for the document. I cannot remember where I saved the style. Any ideas where it should be?

Hi Yoel,

Your custom citation style, which is an XSL file, should be here

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style

or

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Bibliography\Style if you are not using x64.

Regards,
Jay
