Hi Greg,

Pressing the Shift key on its own isn't sufficient to move text. You have to do something else as well (eg dragging the text). If simply pressing the Shift key causes a deletion, that suggests you've done something to reassign the Delete key's function to the Shift key. If so, that's not an Office issue.
