Default Can I put a link in a footer?

I have a document that is bookmarked for all sections and subsections which appear in the table of contents. I would like to put a link labeled "Return to Table of Contents" in the footer so the reader can easily jump back to the TOC to find another section to read.

I put the link in the footer and it appears as a footer in the PDF document (blue, underlined), but it does nothing. Any hints on making that work or is it a pipe dream?

Thanks.

From within Word, the easiest solution would be to add the Go to TOC button to the toolbar of your choice (via Tools | Customize).

Hi, Stephan. I suppose I should know this, but I never used such a button in 2003, and can't find any buttons in 2010. Do they still exist somewhere?

Thanks.

In Tools | Customize, look in the All Commands category. There you will find a GotoTableOfContents command that you can drag to any toolbar.
