Exclamation Weird problem - word docs are producing temp files that won't self delete

I have a very weird problem. What seems like every time someone in our office opens a word doc a temp file is created (like normal). However, ours are not deleting themselves after the document is closed. So we are literally drowning in old temp files. I periodically have to go through and attempt to delete the temp files. Most of them I am able to delete, but others are telling me that I do not have permission to delete the temp file.

I'd like to find a way to stop these temp files from clogging our file tree (they are everywhere!).

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
Thank you,
