Question Special format for the Equations caption.

Special format for the Equations caption.

please, see the attached image that shows my question

i tried to build a format the the equation caption that puts the number of equation between brackets WITHOUT spaces.

for example

V = MW....................................(1.1)

i found that Word makes space between the left bracket and the number while there's no way to set the right bracket Automatically!!!!!

is there a way to have this format for the equations???

Hi Jamal,

You can't do that using the Captions tool in Word. It is possible to achieve by applying a custom format to the caption # after you've inserted it. For a recent discussion on this, see: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...ef-switch.html

To better control the equation, we may stick it inside a table and to align its caption with the right text boundary.

have a look:

But still Words doesn't provide STRAIGHTFORWARD the brackets style for caption like (2.1)
