Can you recover an unsaved file?
I made changes that I didn't want to keep to a Word document that I thought had already been saved. I closed it without saving thinking when I opened it again later I could get back the document as I wanted it to be.
But it hadn't been saved. Can you recover a document even after you've closed it and said "no" when it asks if you want to save? |

I don't know if 2007 has this or if its a 2010 feature, but do you have an option to go to File, Info, and there's a box that says manage versions, and if you click that you can select recover unsaved documents...again I don't know for sure if thats in 2007 or not, but thought I would suggest you check.

Hi JO'BN,
I think that feature is only for recovering files lost during crashes. If you intentionally close a document without saving the edits, there's nothing to recover.

Hi
If you have autosave turned on then, potentially you may be able to recover the last autosaved version. However this is only available whilst MS Word is still open as I think that once Word is closed then all autosaved versions are deleted. Hope this helps. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |
