Default Word 2010 setting defaults for send to mail recipient

In word 2010 I have a template that uses the send to mail recipient button to place outlook email block in word. Is there a way to set defaults for this such as setting the voting buttons as always on and setting a certain subject to be in the subject line every time. I have tried saving a template with these but it doesn't seem to work. Do I need to write a macro to set outlook message properties? Would this even work?

NEW: It works in word 2003 as a regular document. If I just save this document in word 2003 it comes up just like it was saved. In word 2010 it seems to blank out the send to recipient part each time I open it.
