Upgraded 2007 to 2010 - and bullet styles remain as 2007

I have upgraded Office 2007 which came with preloaded computer to 2010 Professional Plus. And I know that bullet styles in 2010 are different to 2007...

This is how it looks in 2010...

But when I open my Word 2010, the bullet points appear like one in attachment file. Which I don't want.

How do I get standard bullet style back? I can't seem to find this restore default or whatever, it seems the fact that Office 2007 was installed beforehand is causing this problem (which I cannot solve since it comes preinstalled)

I have searched for solution for two solid days now, had to format my computer about 10 times in between trying different things to fix this, but still can't find any idea how to solve this! I can't even find anyone with this problem in the internet, I seem to be only person in the world with this problem!

Hi m0912329,

Your Word 2010 installtion will still be using the same 'Normal' template that you had for Word 2007. You'll need to delete/rename that before the new Style definitions will come into effect. The 'Normal' template's location is given under File|Word Options > Advanced > File Locations > User templates. Close Word before deleting/renaming.

Solved the problem - it turns out that the differences in bullet style was dependent on Windows 7 Control panel language settings. Set it to English, and problem was solved.

Very strange I have to say - why is it dependent on languages of an OS?
