I am trying to change an existing Microsoft Word 2003 template. It's the 28 line legal pleading template found here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...006087001.aspx



After much effort searching menus, I was able to change the "Summary of Pleading" text at the bottom of the page by selecting View -> Header and Footer. (I changed it to just be the page number.)

How do I change the vertical lines on the left and right of the page, and the line numbers - 1 to 28? All that stuff needs to be a darker font.

Hi Sarah,

The lines and line numbers are attached to the page header. To edit them, you need to access the page header. That may be unnecessary, however, as the semi-opaque appearance affects only the on-screen appearance - to help you distinguish what's in the body of the document from what's not. The actual lines & numbers are already black and will print as such.
