Default Templates & Screened back images

Hi everyone,
I have a question, that may very well have been asked before, but I shall ask again.

I work for a design firm and we get a lot of customers asking us to make their letterhead into a word file that they can send out. Now we do this for them no problem, using the master page. This however screens back the image while viewing, but it prints out at full color.

Now customers want the image to be at full color because they will just email the word document itself. The only way I know to do this is by placing it as an image in the "front" of the word file. But this raises problems because then it can move around and if you have a top and bottom image and that will make keeping the consistency of the LH "look" not work. Especially if they are sending it to everyone in their company to use.

Am I missing something that there is another way to do this? One customer seems to not want to take no for an answer. We tell them they will have to have the capabilities to make a PDF of it and it will solve it, but again, I'm sure they don't want to have to pay to make that available to everyone in the company.

Thanks for any help in advance!
Mary

Hi Mary,

Anything in Word's header/footer layer, including watermarks, is 'screened' for display purposes, but prints with whatever brightness/contrast settings have been applied. This behaviour cannot be changed by the user.

As for the pdf option, Word 2007 & later can save files in the PDF format, so no additional software is required unless you want more than an ordinary document (eg a fillable form).
