Template causing slow load of Word
Hello all,
We currently have recieved a word document from a vendor that was created from a template on one of the companies network shares. We now are using it internally and everytme we launch it in Word 2010 it always trries to find the original template to see if there were any changes. This is causing an extremely slow load time. Seeing that we don't care about the original template anymore, how can we configure Word to just open as is without it trying to find the original location of template. Hope this makes sense. |

Hi plakerl,
You could change the document's attached template to a local one (See Developer|Document Template|Attach).

Hi Paul, So I am not see Developer as an option from the tool bar. One thing that I failed to mention is that we really don't even need the template any more. We just want to take the current document as is and use this as the basis of the new document moving forward. Is this possible?

Hi plakerl,
You'll need to activate the Developer tab. See under File|Options|Customize Ribbon.
