Question Math object vertical alignment problem

I've inserted two math objects created in MS equation 3.0 and OpenOffice Math into Word 2010.
They were inserted as "inline with text".

MS equation 3.0 is aligned centered with text, but OpenOffice formula is aligned bottom with text.
Can anybody explain why the vertical positions of inserted math objects are different?
I attach the screen shot.
