Avoid merging tables
Is it possible to force Word not to merge two tables that are close together? I mean if you have a table and then an empty line followed by another table, and if you delete that line, then Word would automatically merge these two tables that is annoying! What can I do to avoid this happens?

Hi b0x4it,
Word is designed to treat tables with the same format and no intervening empty paragraph as a single table. You can minimise the visual impact of that empty paragraph by giving it a 1pt font size and no before/after space.

Hi Paul,
That's what I am doing right now and I was wondering if there is any other way more logical to do this. Thank you for your reply anyway. |

Hi b0x4it,
Basically, that is the way. If you define a Paragraph Style with those attribtes, it will be easier to apply. The alternative is to change the table wrapping to 'around', which makes each table a floating object on the page. Aside from allowing the tables to be positioned independently of each other and the text, it will keep them from merging. Can be a pain to maintain the positioning of, though, if you're still editing the document's contents before the table concerned.
