Default Importing Templates in Word 2007

Ah, yet another reason I hate Word '07 with a white hot passion that is exceeded only by my hatred of pure evil itself - although there may be an arguement that the developers of Word 07 are in fact Satan's minions. OK, now how do I import a template into Word 97? This used to be so easy - but with this ribbon garbage, I have no clue as to what to do. Did you ever think that maybe there was someone in Microsoft's Development department when they were developing Word 07 that said, "hey, you know, maybe we should have some sort of feature that lets users revert back to the old interface so they don't have to use this new ribbon thingy." And of course the developers were like, "naw this is the best thing since sliced bread, who needs that?"

Hi rbilleaud,

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but this is not a forum run by Microsoft. neither is it a feedback site for Microsoft. Your spleen-venting is wasted and not appreciated. If you want help, try toning things down ... and maybe like the rest of us, a bit of effort learning to use the (not now so) new interface wouldn't go astray.

Now, given that your profile says you're working with Office 2007, why do you want to:

In Word 2007, attaching a different template to a document is dead easy - Developer|Document Template|Attach. And, if you're wanting to find where Word stores its templates so you can add a new one to that location, clicking on the filepath field in that dialogue box will give the path to that folder (the path to which would be the same regardless of which version of Word you're using).

Point taken, but surely you can appreciate my frustration at having a project due in mere hours and not being able to do what I need to do. In this economy where every job is as precious as gold, failure is not an option. As for taking time to learn the interface, my good sir, I have spent a good deal of time doing just that, but this ribbon thing has gotten me truly baffled, for lack of a more appropriate term. I do however appreciate your help - and reluctantly accept your admonishment.

I don't find any "Developer" tab or menu item or anything. I'm sorry, I'm just lost here. I promise, I used to be quite competent in 2003, and I can't understand why I just don't seem to be able to find anything in 2007 - seriously I am close to tears here.
