Default Hyperlink at citation

When I use Endnote, it makes all the citation hyperlink-enabled. It means that if I Ctrl-click on them, it will jump to where the bibliography located. Is there any way to do this with the default citation manager of Word 2010?

In a word, no. That's possibly because in Word 2007 & later, you can have citations before your bibliography has been generated. Neither can you add a hyperlink switch to a Word citation field.

What about a vb code to automatically create bookmark of the bibliography items and put cross-reference of where they are cited inside the body? Is it possible?

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to achieve here.

Yes, you could bookmark each citation, but that's not the same as being able to make them work as hyperlinks.

And, even if you were to apply a hyperlink to a citation field, you couldn't have a bibliography entry as the hyperlink destination (even if the bibliography had been generated at that time). That's because the individual bibliography entries are part of a larger bibliography field. And, even if you could make a given bibliography entry the hyperlink destination (which requires a bookmark or range address within the document), any bookmark would disappear as soon as the bibliography field was updated and a range address would become invalid as soon as anything was inserted/deleted in the document before it.

You are right, but if that's a macro, it can easily be executed whenever I want to regenerate those cross reference and bookmarks. I am trying to have a tagged pdf just like what LaTeX can create using the package "hyperref". In the pdf it is possible to click on any citation or even any picture, table equation cross reference and it jumps to the where the item is located. So please let me know if there is such a macro code.

Or if you know any other way to create tagged pdf for all cross references including citations, I appreciate if let me know.

Hi b0x4it,

As I said before, you cannot hyperlink to a Word bibliography entry. Neither can you hyperlink from one.
