Default Add automatic separator in caption "Figure 1: __"

Hi

Just found this great forum

I was wondering how I automatically add a separator in my caption text? So instead of "Figure 1 __" I get "Figure 1: __", if I choose colon as my separator. I want to do this so I can I stop worry that some of my readers will mistake the figure number for a numeric quantity from the caption text.

Thanks!

Hi poobear,

I don't think that's possible. You could change the caption's numbering format, though, and that might make it more apparent that the 'number' is not part of the text.
