Default I indent second line and the first line indents, help.

I'm have to define terms for a class that I have and what I want to do is use a bolded word, then have the definition. When the sentence spills over onto the next line I want that line to be indented. When I go to indent that line the previous line becomes indented. The only way to avoid this is to press enter at the end of the top line then indent, but that is so inconvenient. Does anyone know how to override this automatic function?

Here's a demonstration if you didn't get what I was saying:

Jupiter- Roman god of sky and thunder. He is the Roman's equivalent to
the Greek's Zeus.

When I press tab at "the Greek's Zeus" the line starting with Jupiter becomes indented. So if I press tab on the second line it looks like this:

____Jupiter- Roman god of sky and thunder. He is the Roman's equivalent to
_____the Greek's Zeus.

I want it to look like this:

Jupiter- Roman god of sky and thunder. He is the Roman's equivalent to
_____the Greek's Zeus.

If anyone can help me with that, thank you.

_____ represents blank space.
