Question how to remove two lines?

Hello, I cant seem to identify what the highlighted two bars are and how to remove them. They also appear to reformat and move around text and paragraphs on my doc.

Thanks in advance

hi mryevrah,

It looks like you might have an empty paragraph with top & bottom borders applied. If you click on the pilcrow (¶) on the formatting tab, the paragraph ends (which also look like pilcrows) should become evident. Select the affected paragraph(s), then click on the 'borders' button on the formatting toolbar and choose 'no border'.
