Hi,
First of all I would just like to say that I am rather a novice when it comes to technical problems, however I will explain it the best I can. I've been using Microsoft 2010 to create word documents in and save as. I recently have a problem whereby when trying to open a particular file it came up with the error message "Converter failed to save file." When checking the default program to open the file with it was Microsoft Open XML Converter. The file is currently saved as a Word 2007 Document, and when I open it, it opens as another document, which I have recently saved to another file location, but had both files open at the same time while editing. A curious thing for me is whenever I open the file, even before the other document was saved over it, it kept coming up as 'Wd0000017 [Read-Only][Compatibility Mode]. I would like to know a few things if possible: Can I get my document back or do I have to start all over again? Can I change it whereby I can just open a regular word document and save it without having any converter to docx etc.? I apologise for my n00bishness, and thank you for your time reading through my problem. Regards, Flash. |
