How to control the caption and their Cross-reference?

please, see the attached image that shows my question

for example, assume that we have a caption as figure 9 that has a cross refernce as figure 9, in this case, if add new cation before this caption, then the caption figure 9 will be switched to figure 10 but its cross-refernce will stay the same!!!!! it will stay figure 9!!!!!

how to control this cahnge? is their a way? or is all manually, we need to go back and to change the cross-refernce again????

any idea?

Hi Jamal,

All you need to do is a Print Preview, or Ctr-A, F9 to update all fields in the document.
