Question Word doesn't jumps tothe next lane when finds the dash sign!!!! why?

Word does jump to the next line when finds the dash sign!!!! why?

sometimes, the dash sign (-)is part of the word, but the MS words jump to the next line if it finds this sign at the end of any line....why

please, see the attached image

who to keep the words that contain the dash sign (-) as one unit???

thank you

regards

Jamal

hold down Ctrl and Shift as you type the dash to create a non-breaking hyphen.

Hi Jamal,

If you need to keep the dash and the strings either side of it together, input the dash with Ctrl-Shift-Minus. This creates a non-breaking hyphen. You can use Find/Replace to change standard hyphens to non-breaking hyphens.

If you look at the two sets of dashes in that image, you will see that the second one has spaces either side. If you need those spaces and the dashes all to stay together on the same line, input the spaces with Ctrl-Shift-Space. Similarly, you can use Find/Replace to change spaces followed by hyphens to non-breaking spaces followed by hyphens.
