Default Making items (text, pictures, etc.) static on page

MS office 2010 - Windows 7.

Need some help here. At my job, I do a lot of picture management and picture presentations using word documents. I need a way for these pictures, text boxes, and text sentences to stay put on the page(s) as they move every time I hit enter or add text on preceding pages. This becomes very tedious and cumbersome to realign things over and over again.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi Jeremiah,

If you insert a manual page break or a 'next page' Section break into your document just before the page in question, everything on that page will remain locked in position regardless of what happens on the preceding pages.

Thanks Paul. I'll try that. Any suggestions for making items static within the page? I still maneuver a lot within the page and although your suggestion will help me tremendously with the overall document, It would be nice to make adjustments within the page itself without things "shifting" downward / upward every time I delete or add an object.

Thanks again.

Hi Jeremiah,

IMHO its always best to do the graphics stuff after the rest of your editing has been done, starting at the top of each 'Next page' Section break (or hard page break) and working your way down. Any other scenario causes grief with objects relocating themselves to where you didn't want them.
