Can't use Bold and Italic
Hi,
I'm new here. I'm using MS Office 2007. What I wonder is that I can't use bold or italic in document. What is the problem? Could anyone tell me how to solve this? Thanks. |

Are you just unable to find the controls to toggle bold and italics, or are the controls not responding?
If the former, you can find them by clicking Home on the ribbon, then look in the Font section (the B and I buttons). You can also toggle "on the fly" by pressing Ctrl+B (the Ctrl key and the B key at the same time) to turn boldfacing on or off, Ctrl+I for italics, and Ctrl+U for underlining. If the latter, I'm not sure what the problem could be. |

Both are can't be used button bar and pressing Ctrl+B. The letter still stay normal.

Okay, just to cover some basics (it's sometimes a simple oversight):
You do realize that toggling boldface or italics on does not change existing text unless you've selected some text beforehand? The usual practice is to toggle the font change and type what you want to be bold or italicized, then toggle off. When you click on the Bold or Italics button in the Font section of the Home option on the ribbon, is that button highlighted (active) when you open the Home "menu" again? Could you be using a font that doesn't have a bold or italic form? (I've run across a few of these.) Anybody else out there have an idea what could be causing this? |
