Word extra spacing on page break

In that case, I'd suggest checking the document's page layout settings for the Section you're working in. If it's using a 'different first page' and/or a 'different odd and even' setting and the problem occurs when you add the 2nd or 3rd page, that suggests the margins for the new page are messed up.
