We recently upgraded a few folks in our publishing dept. to W7x32 and Office 2010. They reported back that when they do a word count in 2010 it will differ with the word count of the same doc in 2007 and 2003. This is important because the dept has strict word count guidelines for articles and its authors. Any ideas?

Hi Scott,
It might be worthwhile checking whether each system has the same word count settings vis-a-vis the inclusion of textboxes, footnotes & end notes. Also, in all versions, the Word count will change if the document has hidden text and Word is configured to print it.
