I've noticed in the last month or so whenever I try to use the "find" or "find and replace" function in word at the office, I'm having trouble.
Specifically if I'm in a document that was created from a template, it appears that the "Find" function is trying to search only in a specific style format. In the find box this is what I see: Find What: 1234 Options: SearchUp Format: Style: whateverstyle I've never seen this before. I've tried "match case" etc but none of the options help. I really feel like it is searching for words in only a specific style setting...but I have no idea why or how to change this. We've got Word 2003. |

Hi MommyO,
What you're describing suggests either a corrupt template or an add-in of some kind (eg a macro) that's executing a find for the '1234' in the 'whateverstyle' - rather like someone was playing around and saved this as an auto macro in the template concerned. Do you know what template that might be? If it happens as soon as you start Word, or whenever you create a new document based on the default template, it'll probably be the 'Normal.dot' template.
