Embedded Excel in Word very slow to update

Hi,
I am trying to make a word doc that allows users to enter data and then automatically update embedded Excel charts.



I have embedded the excel file and basically have the user to enter in the embedded excel file on one sheet and then flip back to the chart sheet and exit out of the embedded excel file. Not the slickest method but it works.

Issue is there is a 30 second lag between exiting out of the embedded excel file and getting back to the word doc.

Is there a better way to do this?? and/or how can i eliminate the lag
