Print orientiation disregarded by the printer
First off, I'm using Word 2007.
I'm up against the following predicament: By means of Reporting Services I've generated a word file that contains a report. This word document has the landscape orientation. When I send the document to the printer, the printer for some blasted reason pegs the orientation as portrait and prints out the screwed up document. Why on Earth does the printer think that the orientation is portrait when in the document it's set to landscape (I checked that it is so by "Page Layout" -> "Orientation"). Now, just to be on the safe side, I've created a random word document with some random content, that has the same parameters as the first document (that is, the margins, orientation and what not, are ABSOLUTELY the same), printed it out, and this time the printer pegged the orientation correctly! I'm at my wits end, guys, so much hassle over something this ludicrous! Why did it peg the orientation incorrectly with the first document and correctly with the second? And where should I start looking for a solution to this predicament? One thing that caught my attention was that in the case with the first document Word displayed "Compatibility Mode" at the top of the window. Maybe it has something to do with it? I appreciate any help. |

Hi Nonplussed,
In addition to having the landscape orientation, make sure the paper size (Page Setup|Paper) is set for portrait printing (ie width narrower than height).
