Default Tracking addenda?

Office '07

Problem: I edited a large document and submitted same with the changes not accepted to that others could see the changes. We will not meet for a month or so to discuss the changes.

In the meantime, I wish to continue making changes to the document. How can I do so in a way that will preserve the prior changes yet show these secondary changes?

Mark

Hi Mark,

Why not simply keep tracking your further changes?

Because there's no way to distinguish between that which I already provided and that which I would be currently editing. Thinking about it now, I guess it doesn't make a huge difference. The process would just be 'tidier' if there were a distinction between the two sets of changes.

Hi Mark,

All tracked changes are tagged with a time/date stamp and author.

Interesting--that would solve my problem. There are no such stamps in my current document. Is that an option requiring implementation for the stamps to be visible?

Hi Mark,

If you 'hover' over any tracked change, you should see a pop-up with details of the author, date, time and tracked action.

That is hilarious. I was constantly 'bothered' by the feature and even tried to 'turn it off.' Now that I understand a purpose I'm not so interested any longer in removing it.

Thanks again,

Mark
