Default Simple Question, difficult task...

Hi!

My problem is in Word 2002.

I have 5 new pages now at the front of a 226 page document that I DON"T want numbered.

I want the numbering to start on the 6th page.

Word 2002 says to add a Section Break (I picked continuous) on the page I want to start numbering.

Then if says on the Header and Footer toolbar to click "Same As Previous."

I do this but it still doesn’t work. It numbers 1 through 5 on the first 5 pages and then starts numbering again on the page I want the numbering to actually start on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

See:

Although these articles discuss how to number the front matter separately, you don't actually need to apply the front-matter numbering.

Thanks. I'll go right now and look at that. Do you accept docs to work on for a fee?

I have other problems that I'm tired of wasting more than 10 total hours working on over the last few weeks.

Just wanted to throw out there that if "anyone" is interested in working for a fee on a Word doc, to please contact me.

Thanks.

No, I only offer advice through forums such as this, with the idea that users should learn how to do things for themselves without having to pay for others to do the work for them. Of course, there are limits as to how much can reasonably be done without engaging professional support. But what you've asked above is fairly basic.

Ok, just hate wasting so much time on something simple yet I just can't get because of other formatting problems embedded in this doc (I suspect anyway). I'm a musician and probably won't need to do this again, so I'd rather pay.
