Embedded Excel functionality?
I have two separate spreadsheet files embeded within a Word document. The associated Excel spreadsheet files are in the same subdirectory as the Word document. As a test, I moved those spreadsheet files to a different directory, opened the Word document and double clicked within the embedded spreadsheet. The spreadsheet became active just as it did when the Excel files were in the same directory.
Does this then mean that an embedded spreadsheet has all the functionality of the stand alone spreadsheet? After you make a lot of changes to the embedded sheet is there a way to get those changes back into the original stand alone spreadsheet? Thanks, Mark |

Hi Mark,
Yes embedded worksheets do have the same functionality as stand-alone worksheets. If you modify an embedded worksheet, the changes 'stick' immediately to exit the embedded object. If you don't want to save the changes, you can either re-active the worksheet and undo them, or close the document without saving. You also have the option of linking to an external workbook, in which case you make any changes there and they'll be reflected in the Word document.
