Default Insert pdf within?

Assuming that you cannot save a pdf file (that is an image not text) as text and maintain any semblance of readability, is there a way to insert the pdf as pages within an existing document at a particular starting page number?

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can insert a pdf but, if it's got more than one page, only the first page will display. The only ways around this are to:
1. break the pdf into multiple files and insert each page separately; or
2. insert the pdf as an icon, which allows the document's uder to double-click on it to open up the pdf in whatever pdf reader they have installed.

Using pdfsam I can automatically split out all pages of a pdf doc to individual page/files as you suggested and as I just did. I have inserted the individual pages. I increased the L and R margins hoping that I could 'stretch' the pdf to increase the point size of the pdf image--it did not. Is there a way that mere mortals using freeware might be able to achieve this?

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark,

With the 2nd option, printing the document will only print the pdf icon. To print the pdf, you would need to open it and print from there.

Thanks--

I think you replied to my (ongoing) edit. After much messing around I figured out what you said, advanced my way back and through option 1 to another stumbling point that is defined in the final edit?!

Hi Mark,

I hadn't noticed the edit - I was responding to the post's previous content (which, of course, is now gone).
