Template "form field" & pictures - need help
Hello,
I am creating a template to standardize our test reports at work. To do this, I've used the "forms" toolbar with the "text form field" button. This works great to keep the form standardized (no extra headings, font changes, etc.). However, I'm having two issues: 1) The text forms do not allow the writer to insert a picture. Is there any way around this? 2) I'd like a specific set of text at the bottom of page number. Text forms cannot be used in the footer. So the location of the text is directly dependent on the number of lines used in the "reason", "objective", and "summary" heading. Meaning, this text will never be in the same page on two separate documents (thus not helping my desire to have a "standard"). Please see attached. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, Matt |

Hi MAS,
For the picture insertion, you can insert Section breaks before & after the position where you want to allow the picture to be inseted. Then, when protecting the document, leave that Section unprotected. For the footer info, I'd suggest setting up the required formfields in a single paragraph (with line breaks if needed) in the body of the document and applying a paragraph Style to them that isn't used anywhere else in the document. You can then use a STYLEREF field in the footer to replicate the data.

Paul,
Thanks. For the pictures, I'd must rather put them into the text field if possible. The issue is with a test report, there may be a dozen charts (figures in this case), all seperated by text. Meaning paragraph, figure, paragraph, figure, etc... Difficult to do with seperate text fields and section breaks. Other thoughts? As for the footer. I only want the data to appear once, at the bottom of page #1. With the method you suggest, the data will be shown twice (once in the text field, the second in the footer). Additional suggestions? I appreciate the help. Just trying to make this idiot proof. Matt |

Hi Matt,
I've been away for the past few weeks, hence the delay in replying. Quote:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...010214071.aspx there's an example using Picture Content Controls at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...030004364.aspx With a bit of field coding or the use of the 'different first page' layout option, you can limit the footer's appearance to the first page.
