Most macros should be stored in templates, not documents.
I have no trouble with macro-enabled templates stored on OneDrive, so long as I use their synced counterparts from my hard drive. I avoid AutoSave. It does not work reliably and only works for documents/templates saved or synced to OneDrive/SharePoint.
