In Word 2003, how may I copy shading from one cell to another?

Format Painter fails.

Paste Special lacks "Format only".

There is nothing built into Word 2003 to copy cell formatting and paste it elsewhere.
Again, a macro might be able to do this.

Note, this is not different in the latest versions of Word.
