Hi, Dear Friends!
While my last gigantic work (which about the noble users of this forum were extremely helpful with, thank you) is with the final proofreader, I have begun the next project and was looking for some guidance on the best way to tackle this: It is a fully typed manuscript that is now ~600 pages long in Word. The author (from about 250 years ago) used cross references to the utmost—hundreds if not thousands, "As I wrote about this subject (over there etc)." In the final work, I would like these to be references to page numbers. So, how should I go about this most efficiently? Look up the thing he references, bookmark it, and then CF to the bookmark? Or some other way? BM is so annoying because it cannot allow spaces, and it seems that they are really heavy on file size and would slow down the whole thing. Right? I value and appreciate all input. Thank you, and have a good day! Susan Flamingo |

Without a document with some representative content to work with, we'd only be guessing. You can obfuscate any irrelevant content if you prefer. Plus, if you want to index the content, it might be possible to use a concordance file for both purposes.

It is all in Hebrew, and it is not easy to read, as the author really wanted to keep it short and not explain a lot.
Any ideas in any case? |

I can work with Hebrew, provided it's clear what it is you want to cross-reference and what indicates where the cross-references are to go. Easiest if you highlight the base content with one color and the content to turn into cross-references in another.
