Default How do I color bullets

Hello,

I'm writing up my resume in Word and I'm wondering how to set a custom color for the bullets. The help I get on google doesn't work. It says to highlight the bullets and go under Home > Bullets > Define New Bullet and then change the color. But in my version of Word, there is no option to change the color under that route. Please help.

My Word version is Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021

Simple:
1. Click on Bullet>Define New Bullet
2. Choose 'Symbol' to define the bullet character
3. Choose 'Font' to define the bullet color.

Another option:
  1. Click on a bullet to select it. Any other bullet in a sentence with the same style will also be selected.
  2. Right Click on the bullet to bring up the quick formatting menu (or go to the Home tab on the Ribbon) and use font color to select the desired bullet color. All the selected bullets will be updated with the new color.
  3. Update the paragraph style so that the bullet color will be saved.

Thanks both, but in both cases the font option is disabled (see attachments). It must be the fact that I imported the bullet image from another document. I don't know where the original came from. It looks like my only option is to replace the bullet with a native one from Word itself.

Could you post a Word document showing this behavior? it will make it MUCH easier to sort out that way.

Your bullets may not be characters - they may be shapes. In which case, you either change the shape coloring (difficult when they're multi-colored) or you replace them with characters that you can color.

As Paul pointed out, if your bullet is actually an image or shape ("picture bullet"), then you won't be able to change its font color, simply because it isn't a text character whose font etc. properties can be changed.

You will have to edit the image itself, for example using image editing software.
