Default Strange cross ref behaviour

Hi friends!

Because my document has become so long I have broken it up into very small parts.
However, I have a challenge because I use cross-references very often.
These cross-references will usually be to the pages of bookmarks.
So what I thought I would do would just add the pageref field and use the name of the bookmark even though it does not currently exist in the present document but it will exist in the final combined document.
But after I have entered the field with the correct bookmark name and I open it again it shows me that is referencing some very strange bookmark that I am not familiar with. What is going on here?

Thank you and have a good day!
