Default Word. Removing the decimal point and numbers following it using the replace function

Hi all

Help please !

I receive data at work that is churned out into a word document. This includes a list of currency amounts i.e.

£100.67
£2,377.87

£1.60
£20.44

I am trying to remove the decimal points and the numbers after them, just leaving it like this

£100
£2,377
£1
£20

I asked someone I work with and they said use Replace function. Using “^#^#.” and leaving the second box blank.

I thought this was the key but I have reviewed the results and it was not giving accurate results

Can anyone help please. The data is not in a table in the Word document.

Thanks very much in advance
Steve, London, UK

Hi Charles

The results place the two digits after the point, in front of the point
Example
£1084.67 becomes £1067
Close but not good enough

Thank you for the link also.

I was really hoping there would be an easy way of removing the decimal numbers from a word document. It sounds like something that people would want to do previously but I cannot find anything. If anyone knows somewhere I may be able find the answer I would really appreciate , and so would everyone in my department !!

I have worked it out. The answer is

I had the decimal point in the wrong position. It works perfectly now

Thanks anyway all

You put the decimal point in the wrong place. Move it to the start of the search string instead of putting it at the end
“.^#^#”

Ahh, I see you worked it out before I posted my answer
