Default Reg Seq fields

Hi Friends!

Is there a way to tell the SEQ field to start at a certain number, say 387 and then the next seq field in that series would render 388?

Thank you and have a good day!

Well believe it or not I actually did!

But I did not grasp how to do what I requested.

I suppose the line regarding this is:

\r n
Resets the sequence number to the specified number n. For example, { SEQ figure \r 3 } starts figure numbering at 3.

But what threw me off was the word "figure" which now I understand is the series label.

So if I want to start my numbering at 387 I would write "SEQ "MySeries" \r 387,

Correct?

Word uses SEQ fields for the built-in Caption facility, and therefore Figure occurs commonly with SEQ fields.

However, you can choose any identifier (= "sequence name") that you want. A restart applies to the named sequence only. In other words, you can have { SEQ Figure } running consecutively while restarting { SEQ MySeries } using the \r switch.
