Default Editing "Strange" Document in Word

Hi

I just tried to change the margins in a Word-template. When I change them, nothing seems to be right.

The thing is, this is a document with some kind of PDF-type coding, or something.

Download files - Filemail

I found it as a template in Word. Canīt find the version, but I think itīs 2024. If you donīt want to press the link, itīs a resume, with a picture and a text box, in two separate boxes inside a bigger box. All this boxing-thing is completely new to me, so..

Margins is just one thing; I want to move images and text boxes, and the boxes with text boxes in them, freely about. I see I can change the left and right sides manually, but not the top. I also see I can move the entire "big box", and manipulate that proportionately diagonally, but the elements inside it, is another story.

Iīm thinking maybe Iīm not using the right program? ...but, then, formats could be an issue, right? Itīs weird to me how a big program like Word could be so backwards and so useful at the same time.

Thanks in advance

There isn't any "kind of PDF-type coding, or something" in the document. Like most of the resume templates available from the Office tab, it uses a table to achieve the layout. So there aren't any text boxes to move about.

If the document is encoded as PDF, it may have been saved or imported as PDF, which may create editing restrictions. Try saving it in .docx format, which allows for more editing flexibility. And make sure you are working in document editing mode, not viewing mode. This will allow you to freely change and move elements in your document.
