On one of the computers running the Microsoft Windows 10 x64 operating system, if You enable the Preview Area in Explorer and left-click on a Microsoft Office document, for example, a Microsoft Word document, an error message appears in the preview area: "This file can't be previewed because of an error in the Microsoft Word Previewer". This problem is observed only under the account of the User for whom this preview is needed. If you log in with an Administrator account, the preview works fine. I tried to create a new User (a regular User who is not part of the Administrators group) and looked at how the preview works there, the preview works fine. I tried adding a User under whose account the preview does not work to the Administrators group, but the problem remains. Question: What should I do to make the Preview work? Version of Microsoft Office ─ Microsoft Office 2019 Professional Plus x64.

This is a known issue with some versions of Word. I don't think it has ever been permanently fixed by Microsoft. Newer versions are more robust.

If you are seeing the issue with the document preview in the File > Open > Browse dialog box in Word, check if you can preview from File Explorer, with Word closed, instead.
