Default print preview does not show the real page width

Hi!
I need to print some image with text to the exact size, but the print preview shows smaller even the paper size. For A4 width it shows 20 cm instead of 21 cm, for Letter size it shows 20.5 instead of 21.59!
Why does it not show the real page width in Print preview?

(Scale content for A4 or 8.5"x11" paper sizes option is unchecked.)

please help!

Because that is the printable area the driver for your printer has communicated to Word. If your printer can print the full width of the paper there will be a setting for that in Printer Properties which you will need to select.

I have no printer installed, only Microsoft Print to PDF. Because this is a kind of virtual printer I assume it can print the full width of paper, in any case Why Print Preview does not shows the real paper's width?

If you simply want to create a pdf you can use File Save As, which will likely give better results.

Verify that the paper size settings in the driver for Microsoft Print to PDF is also set to the format you want. Sometimes, there could be conflicting settings between Word and the printer.

However, as Italophile said, you may find it easier to just create a PDF from within Word, using the Save As dialog box.

Yes, the paper size is set the same as in the Word (A4)

Can someone check if the A4 Print Preview shows the real width (21cm) and only for me it looks just 20cm. (just put an A4 paper sheet on the screen)

Here, the print preview appears to be correct with the paper format set to A4 and the Microsoft Print to PDF printer selected.

Note that the margins and paper format won't necessarily be accurately depicted on your screen. The size you see on screen will depend on the monitor size and resolution.

I added background color just to illustrate that the Microsoft Print to PDF virtual printer allows for zero margins. It is not important to the rest of this message.
